Instead of letting the terrified dog suffer, Raoudha gently wraps her arms around his shaking frame and carries him away from the perilous streets.
He isn’t taken to a cold, sterile city pound.
He is brought directly into the veterinarian’s personal home, which she has miraculously transformed into a massive, life-saving sanctuary.
Since 2007, Raoudha has opened her doors to over 150 cats and 25 dogs at any given time, welcoming those with the most severe past trauma.
Using her professional skills, she carefully tends to their hidden wounds, administers vaccines, and ensures they are safely sterilized.
Slowly, the once-hunted street animals realize they no longer have to run.
Within the safe, warm walls of her house, their fearful whimpers are finally replaced by peaceful snores on soft cushions.
