Three Puppies Were Abandoned Near Train Tracks, and One Frightened Little Dog Made Rescue Much Harder

When Love Furry Friends received a call about three abandoned puppies near a railway station, the situation was already worrying. The little dogs had reportedly been living there for about a week, only a short distance from passing trains. They were exhausted, poorly nourished, and struggling to survive in a place where even a small mistake could put them in danger.

A compassionate teenage girl had noticed the puppies and tried to help. She built a small shelter for them and provided water, doing what she could with the limited resources available to her. But feeding three growing puppies was more than she could afford, so she contacted rescuers who could give them the care they desperately needed.

When the team arrived, two puppies were resting beside each other, while the third remained hidden and unwilling to trust the strangers. The rescuers offered them wet food, hoping the hungry little dogs would come closer. Two began eating, but the most frightened puppy stayed away. Getting all three out safely would require patience, and the railway tracks left very little room for mistakes.

One Puppy Was Too Frightened to Come Close

The rescuers approached carefully, trying not to frighten the puppies more than they already were. The two who accepted the food were easier to handle, and the team managed to pick them up without much difficulty. The third puppy, however, bolted toward the nearby bushes.

The woman followed him, determined not to leave him behind. But the puppy kept moving into the dense brush, and the rescuers were painfully aware that the railway was only a few steps away. With trains passing nearby, the situation had become dangerous for both the frightened animal and the person trying to reach him.

Eventually, the puppy became trapped in a thicket beneath the vegetation, too frightened to come out. The rescuer had to crawl into the brush to reach him and bring him to safety.

Only when all three puppies were secured could the team leave the railway area behind. Their immediate danger had passed, but the rescuers still needed to find out how badly the puppies’ health had been affected by their time without adequate care.

The Veterinary Examination Revealed Why They Were So Weak

The puppies were taken directly to a veterinary clinic. They were so tired that two of them struggled to stay awake, even while being examined on the table. Their condition concerned the veterinary team, who needed to check for infectious diseases and other problems before deciding on the next steps.

Fortunately, their tests for viruses came back negative. The examination found that the puppies were suffering from flea and tick infestations, while malnutrition explained much of their weakness and exhaustion.

The team treated them for parasites, provided vaccinations, and gave them baths to remove the dirt and help address their flea and tick problems. The puppies were not particularly fond of being washed, but they endured the process as their caregivers worked to get them comfortable and clean.

“Sometimes, helping a vulnerable animal begins with meeting the simplest needs it has gone without: enough food, proper treatment, and a place where it no longer has to be afraid.”

The teenage girl had already done what she could to protect the puppies. Her small shelter and efforts to provide water had helped them survive until the rescue team arrived. Now, the puppies had access to the medical care and nourishment they needed to begin recovering.

From the Railway to the Search for a Forever Home

A few days later, the rescuers returned to collect the puppies from the clinic. Their next step was to find suitable permanent homes where they could grow up safely, away from the dangers of the railway.

The rescue team shared updates on their progress and asked supporters to help make more rescues like theirs possible. Caring for abandoned animals requires resources, from veterinary treatment to food and shelter, and the puppies’ recovery depended on that continued support.

Eventually, two of the puppies, Oskar and Mika, found their forever homes.

Their story had begun beside busy railway tracks, where three little dogs had been left to fend for themselves. One teenage girl had tried to help with the limited means she had, and the rescue team had persisted even when the most frightened puppy made the operation difficult.

The available update confirmed that Oskar and Mika were adopted, giving them the opportunity to begin a new life with families of their own.

What began as a search for three exhausted puppies became a reminder of how much difference one person’s concern can make. The teenager did not have all the resources needed to save them, but she did not ignore them either. By reaching out for help, she gave the puppies a chance to leave the railway behind and move toward a safer future.
