When rescuers arrived on the scene to pull her from the basement, what they found was utterly devastating. She was in an incredibly bad stage of decline. Her frail body was completely broken from years of overuse and neglect.

It was clear from her face that she had cried so much.

Because she had been locked in the dark for so long, her eyes—which should have been bright and healthy—had severely deteriorated. She was left navigating a world she could barely see.

The Devastating Physical Toll of Greed

At the veterinary clinic, the full extent of her suffering was revealed.
