Home is supposed to be a place of safety and warmth.
But for one heartbreakingly fragile dog, home was nothing more than the inside of a discarded car tire.
Her body was completely ravaged by a severe skin condition. The painful, bleeding wounds caused by demodex mange made her look different. And in the harsh reality of the streets, being different often means being rejected.
While a few kind souls tossed her tiny scraps to keep her alive, most locals actively chased her away from their doors.
They looked at her and saw a “mangy,” sick animal. They didn’t see the terrified soul trapped inside.
She was freezing, exhausted, and desperately trying to hide from the biting wind. Her trembling body was silently pleading for just one thing: a place where she would never be cold or hungry again.

A Promise Made in the Passenger Seat
The moment her rescuer finally lifted her into a heated car, everything changed.
As the warmth washed over her shivering frame, a quiet vow was made: she would never, ever be unwanted again.
They gave her a beautiful name—Neve.
But the early days of her rescue were incredibly difficult. Even wrapped in soft blankets inside a warm room, Neve couldn’t stop shaking. The chill from the streets had settled deep into her young bones.
She was battling severe anemia and painful inflammation.
When she was given her very first toy, she just stared at it. She had spent her entire life surviving; she had absolutely no idea how to play.
But her rescuers knew that time and patience would teach her.
Healing With Coconut Oil and Kindness
Neve’s recovery required intense, round-the-clock dedication.
Her therapy included medicated baths to soothe her inflamed skin, followed by gentle massages with coconut oil. Her caregivers carefully rubbed the oil into her body to prevent her raw skin from cracking further.
She was given antibiotics and food rich in vitamins to combat her severe malnutrition.

Slowly but surely, the loving touch began to work its magic.
By Day 23, the heavy sadness in her eyes started to lift. Neve was finally becoming the cheerful, happy dog she was always meant to be.
By Day 34, her wounds were completely gone. Her delicate frame was filling out, and a beautiful, soft yellow coat was beginning to grow back.

A Triumphant Return to the Past
Two months after pulling her from the freezing tire, her rescuer decided to try an experiment.
They took Neve back to the exact spot where she had grown up unwanted and ignored, just to see her reaction.
She wasn’t afraid. She was a completely transformed, confident princess.
Neve had blossomed into a wonderfully gentle soul who adores everyone she meets. She loves playing with other dogs, she is incredibly sweet with cats, and she finally understands exactly what toys are for.
By Day 85, the temperature in Sarajevo had dropped to a bitter 14 degrees Celsius.
Had she been left on the street, she never would have survived the cold. Instead, she spent that morning getting her necessary vaccinations, returning quickly to whine at the front door because she wanted to go back inside her heated house.
Neve’s incredible transformation leaves us with a few powerful reminders:
✨ A skin condition does not define an animal’s worth.
✨ True beauty is revealed when a soul feels safe and loved.
✨ Every stray deserves to know what a warm bed feels like.
Neve survived the freezing streets. Today, she knows how to accept love, give it back, and live happily forever.
