A local property owner had noticed the stray dog barking from the rocks and heard the faint, muffled cries echoing from deep within the crevice.
Alarmed by the rapidly changing weather, she immediately reached out to experienced rescuer Faith Easdale from Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue.
Faith knew the forecast predicted massive, sweeping floods by the next morning, meaning the trapped puppies would undoubtedly drown if left inside the narrow den.
“I wasn’t stopping until we got them out safely,” Faith told herself, her heart racing as she and her team hurried toward the desolate site.
When the rescuers arrived at the boulders, they used highly aromatic treats to gently coax the exhausted mother dog out of the darkness and into a secure transport crate.
However, peering into the deep shadows of the cave, Faith realized the five newborn puppies were shoehorned so far back that human hands simply could not reach them.

The brave mother was proudly named Terra, while her five magnificent puppies became Eco, Earth, Bamboo, Recycle, and Solar.
Instead of shivering in a dark, flooded cave, these little angels now spend their sunny afternoons participating in joyful puppy pilates classes.
